Summer Research Intern

Inria Nancy (DELTA)

I am an MSc student in Computer Engineering at Koç University, where I work on generative modeling for antimicrobial peptide design. I am also a summer research intern with the DELTA team at Inria Nancy, supervised by Hamed Khakzad and Yasaman Karami, working on protein binder design evaluation with molecular dynamics simulation.

My research sits at the intersection of machine learning and computational biology. Recent work includes AMP-DiT, a denoising diffusion transformer for antimicrobial peptide generation directly in sequence space, accepted as a poster at the GenBio Workshop at ICML 2026. I have also published on paratope prediction with protein language models (Scientific Reports) and federated learning for Parkinson’s disease clinical data (IEEE JBHI).

Previously, I was an AI Engineer in Computational Biology at 310.ai, where I worked on protein design, taxonomy prediction, and binder design pipelines. I received my BSc in Computer Engineering from Sharif University (GPA: 17.68/20), with a thesis on paratope prediction using protein language models.

I am interested in protein and peptide design, generative models for biological sequences, antibody design, and molecular dynamics for assessing protein flexibility and binding. I was awarded the 2025 Presidential Fellowship at Koç University and the 2024 Vector Scholarship for MSc Entrance at York University (17,500 CAD), and received Bronze (2018) and Silver (2019) medals in Iran’s national Mathematical Olympiad.
